Ukraine: Joint Statement on Children’s Rights
With the support of Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TFCF has partnered with the Italian nonprofit organization WeWorld to launch the three-year program “Rebuilding Childhoods: Comprehensive Support for Vulnerable Children in the Kyiv Region.”
The program introduces clinically proven approaches, including Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment and Trauma-Informed Care, to provide professional training for frontline social workers in Ukraine, staff from the Kyiv City Children and Family Welfare Department, residential care institutions, and foster caregivers.
On January 8, TFCF and WeWorld released a joint statement emphasizing that humanitarian action should go beyond material aid and include psychological recovery and institutional rebuilding. Over the next three years, the program will be guided by the principles of the best interests of the child and do no harm, helping children recover from various forms of violence and trauma while restoring dignity and hope for the future.
