TFCF Eswatini: Menstrual Poverty and Health Education
2023/09/18
In Eswatini, many adolescent girls face economic barriers that prevent them from affording menstrual products. As a result, they miss approximately 4 days of school each month. This leads to falling behind in their studies and even considering dropping out of school. To address the impact of menstruation on girls' education, the TFCF Eswatini distributes reusable menstrual pads to adolescent girls and organizes a series of training programs aimed at increasing awareness of health and physical development. These initiatives not only promote hygiene practices among girls but also aim to eliminate the cultural stigma surrounding menstruation. The goal is to empower adolescent girls to live with dignity and confidence.
